Unit Trusts

A Unit Trust is a portfolio of financial assets that are managed by a professional fund manager. These assets could include stocks, property, and bonds.

A Unit Trust ISA is a type of Stocks and Shares ISA. So, it gives you the chance to benefit from a stock market investment without being liable for Income or Capital Gains Tax.

A Unit Trust can also have the potential to provide medium to long term capital growth and income.

Unit Trusts are often used as part of a focused tax-planning strategy, they can give you the flexibility to make the most of your annual Capital Gains Tax exemption and/or your Personal Savings Allowance in respect of interest paid and/or your dividend allowance in respect of dividends.

If you use Unit Trusts in conjunction with a Trust*, this provides an opportunity to invest on behalf of say, children/grandchildren although advice in relation to the tax implications will be key.
